Medchal, Telangana: Province of Bangalore organized a refresher seminar for the members engaged in pastoral ministry from 27 to 29 January 2026 at Medchal, Hyderabad; 27 pastors participated in the three days seminar facilitated by the prefect of apostolate and mission.

The seminar consisted upskilling sessions to help enhance the pastoral ministry. Frs. Sebastian Theruvanmoola CMF and Chinnanna CMF highlighted the need for accompanying the families especially the families in distress through the topic “Caring the Family-Caring the Church”.
Sr. Jessy Kurian, a Supreme Court Lawyer, interacted with the participants to help them familiarize with the legal aspects of ‘Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Adults’ in our institutions. She highlighted the different aspects of the laws and invited the members to be prudent and provide safe environment in our places of ministry.

Fr. Johny Kattuparayil CMF, province coordinator for SOMI and JPIC, shared the ways and methods of implementing SOMI and JPIC in the parishes. Fr. Tomy Urumbumkuzhiyil CMF, coordinator for social ministries in the province, explained the need to reach out to the people in distress through our parish ministry.

Fr. Supreeth Menezes from Chikkmangalore diocese elaborately explained the importance of Liturgical Celebrations, especially the Eucharist.
The participants spent a quality time in evaluating and planning the effective ways of ministry through the great jubilee celebration, social outreach to the persons in need, transparency and accountability in administration, etc.
