SANYASA INSTITUTE - 23rd CONVOCATION

Bengaluru: The Institute of Consecrated Life – Sanyasa (ICLS) held its 23rd Convocation in a simple and elegant ceremony on March 29, 2025. Two students of licentiate in theology of consecrated life, 17 students of diploma in the same discipline, and 27 students who underwent the intensive preparatory for perpetual profession in Forge key graduated with honours.

The Chief Official at the Ceremony was Rev. Dr. Saju Chackalackal, CMI, the National President of the Conference of Religious India and a renowned philosopher. In his convocation address, citing Dilexit Nos n. 219, Dr. Saju invited every graduating student to operate out of the love of the Sacred Heart that “alone can bring about a new humanity.” Together with Rev. Dr. Sabu George, the President of ICLS and superior of the Claretian province of Bangalore, he felicitated the licentiate graduates. Fr. Sabu bestowed the Diploma Toppers prizes, including the Esther Stanley Merit Award on Sr. Arul Sudha Senathipathi, SCC.  Fr. James Kannanthanam, superior of ICLS, awarded the certificates to the participants of the Intensive Preparatory course.

The oath of fidelity to catholic faith and magisterium was administered to the graduates by Fr. Paulson Veliyannoor, the director of ICLS. Fr. Michael Plamparambil, the institute secretary, presented the report of the academic year.

Following the convocation, Fr. Sabu George presided at the Mass of the Holy Spirit, with which the academic year was formally closed and the graduates sent forth. The entire function was attended by other CRI officials, Claretian novices, members from neighbouring communities, and congregational members, family and friends of the students.
